Film Photo Collection

Over the summer, I started using the Canon AE-1 film camera. I’ve always loved the unique qualities film provides and the anticipation it brings to wait and see what the photo will look like. I experimented with different rolls of film and different settings throughout the summer to become comfortable. I took the camera with me on my road trip out west this past summer and finally, nearly 6 months later developed the film. This collection is so special to me and captured so many beautiful memories and sights throughout the summer. This will be my first film collection shared on the blog and I’m looking forward to many more!

Autumn in Ohio: Photo Diary

Ohio is where I grew up and the place I’ll always call home. If Ohio should be known for anything, it should be the way it looks in the fall. The leaves are vibrant and beautiful, the weather is cool enough for a sweater and there’s a pumpkin patch in every city. There are so many things about Ohio in the fall that I love and I thought I’d share.

Some of my favorite fall spots:

  • Rocky River Reservation
  • The Holden Arboretum
  • Ledges Overlook
  • Patterson’s Fruit Farm
  • Szalay’s Farm & Market
  • Sandrun Metro Park

Dublin, Cliffs of Moher, and Galway, Ireland Photo Diary

This is my second time visiting Ireland and it still remains one of my favorite countries I’ve ever traveled to. I only had a couple days in Ireland so I stayed overnight in Dublin and used it as a base. During my time in Ireland, I took a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher, Galway, and Doolin. In my opinion, day trips are a great way to experience the most of the country. I love being able to relax and admire the stunning countryside while someone else drives. Day trips through a company are organized with various stops for sightseeing and eating which makes it so much easier! If bus day trips aren’t for you, renting a car is another great option to see some of Ireland’s incredible countryside and different cities.

From Dublin, the Cliffs of Moher are about three hours away, and from the Cliffs, Galway is another hour. It’s possible to see both in one day. Next time I visit Ireland, I want to stay overnight in Galway and experience the city in more depth.

Here’s a few of my favorite shots from this green, rainy, cozy country:

Salzburg, Austria

Although I was only in Salzburg for about four hours, I had such a memorable time. I loved everything about Salzburg and all of the history and culture it had to offer. With only a few hours, I had time to walk around Salzburg and participate in The Sound of Music tour. The Sound of Music is one of the main things Salzburg is known for, as most of the movie was filmed in Salzburg. Even if you aren’t a huge Sound of Music movie fan, if you’re visiting Salzburg, this tour is a must! I learned so much about the real story of the Von Trapp family, the filming of the movie, and throughout the tour I saw more parts of Austria, which to me was one of the best parts!

Austria is a beautiful country I hope to visit again sometime soon. Here are some of my favorite photos from Salzburg, Austria.

24 Hours in Budapest, Hungary

IMG_1305.JPG

Last weekend I went on a whirlwind adventure traveling to Hungary and Austria. I was able to spend about 24 hours in Budapest so I took advantage of every moment. Budapest was one of the most magical cities I’ve been to. I was in awe of the stunning architecture throughout the city, especially the Fisherman’s Bastion. A day wasn’t nearly enough time, but since Budapest is easily walkable, I was able to pack a lot into one day.

A few things I suggest seeing in Budapest:

  • Fisherman’s Bastion, I recommend walking to the top. The view of Budapest along the walk is incredible!
  • Walk across the Chain Bridge.
  • Grab a cup of coffee at Espresso Embassy.Β
  • See the interior of the New York Cafe.Β

Photo Diary: Brooklyn, New York

As much as I hate being considered a tourist, I love doing touristy things…

If you’ve read my blog before, you should be well aware that New York is my favorite city. I’ve gone countless times and every single trip I come prepared with a huge bucket list, which makes each visit new and exciting. Over my spring break, instead of heading to warm weather and the beach, I wanted to be in NYC. More specifically, I wanted to be in Brooklyn. I have only been once before and last time I did not have the chance to do the one thing at the top of my bucket list: walk the Brooklyn bridge. And I can happily say, walking the Brooklyn bridge was as magical as I envisioned.

There is so much to do in Brooklyn and if you’re not fond of the chaos that surrounds Manhattan at times, I suggest taking a short subway ride to Brooklyn. Brooklyn, New York offers a different vibe than Manhattan and there is so much to do and see. Some of my favorite activities in Brooklyn are walking the bridge, finding a cute coffee shop, and snapping some pictures of the most beautiful skyline.
